The big American is Robert W Smith and the young Chinese man at the back, not pushing too hard, is Dr Chi.

This is the last image I saw last night before sleeping, and now the first I see when I switch my pc on this morning. Last night I was rereading Robert Smith's 'Masters and Methods' and was struck by Dr Chi's face and posture.

It's not too hard to see how the pushes are absorbed into the ground. They go right down from Cheng Man Ching's arm into his back heel. Nothing that anyone couldn't replicate who is reasonably aware of body structure. He has been built up over the years as possessing almost supernatural power but actually from this picture it's nothing of the sort. It's exactly the same principle used when a slight women is asked to demonstrate how she can resist the push of many people pushing against her feet as she lies on her back. It is astonishing to see but as long as she holds the right line she can maybe push off five or more men with ease. With the massive base Cheng Man Chings feet are occuping and his raised arm it's also easy for him to resist the push of many people - same principle. Just a question of getting the structure right.

Any demonstration is trickery. But the man did have magic, and that's because he understood energy.
