Gravity is quite an onslaught – persistent, insistent, inescapable. And unless the heart opens up, lightens up, fills with love and finds the lift from above, it'll end up grinding me into the ground. The Taoist approach to this problem is the most intelligent I have found. By taking as first principle the balance of opposites, gravity itself, or rather the Earth's inexorable presence coupled with the draw it exerts, recoils up through me and reminds me to connect to Heaven, if only I have the heart to hear.
