We think, being middle-class and well-heeled, we're free and able to design our own lives. This our stupidity and arrogance. The only thing we really design is the disguise that conceals our real life, which is always one of spirit, and always beyond self-agency. What is up to us is how much energy we apportion to the illusion and how much to the reality.
